Strength for the decades ahead

Personal Training Over 50 in Canberra

Training after 50 is not about trying to be twenty again. It is about protecting the strength, mobility and confidence that let you keep living on your terms. Off The Pine personal training helps Canberrans build a body they can rely on for the next thirty years, whether that means travelling, playing with grandchildren, working without pain or staying independent.

You start with a Back Yourself Session. We discuss your history, current ability and the parts of daily life you want to keep doing well. Then we set a realistic floor and choose regular weekly sessions. If you are new to strength training or returning after years away, you will be taught carefully. If you already train, we will give your work clearer direction and progression.

Each session develops practical strength, balance, movement quality and fitness. Exercises are selected for your body and coached with purpose. The work can progress as your confidence grows, without turning every session into a test. Your program is recorded in Everfit, and weekly check-ins keep Movement, Nutrition, Recovery and Accountability visible.

Good coaching adapts the plan when your body or week changes. It does not lower the standard of continuing to show up. The goal is lasting capability, not a six-week burst followed by another long break. You will build confidence under load, learn what your body can do and create a training rhythm that still makes sense years from now. If that is the future you want, the next step is a conversation.

What strength after 50 looks like

Muscle and bone become harder to hold on to from midlife unless you train for them. Lifting is how you keep both, along with your balance and your confidence on stairs, hills and uneven ground.

Our programs work with osteopenia, osteoporosis and joint concerns, alongside any guidance from your GP or physiotherapist. You will never be treated as fragile, and never pushed past what your body is ready for.

Yes. Our programs are built to work with osteopenia, osteoporosis and joint concerns, and we follow any guidance from your doctor or physiotherapist.
I have never lifted weights. Is that a problem?
Not at all. You will be taught carefully, and the work progresses as your confidence grows.
Can my partner train with me?

Are your trainers qualified?
Yes. Shannon and every Off The Pine personal trainer hold recognised fitness qualifications, professional registration and current first aid.
