For public servants, lawyers, doctors and executives
Personal Training for Busy Professionals in Canberra
Most of the people we coach have demanding jobs: public servants, lawyers, doctors, embassy and diplomatic staff, CEOs and business owners, school principals, financial advisers and accountants. They are used to doing more. More emails, more hours, more effort. In fitness, that usually ends the same way: you start hard, you stop, and you start again.
Off The Pine is built for the opposite. Fixed weekly sessions, accountability that takes a few minutes a day, and a coach who adjusts the plan when work gets heavy. You can train with a coach for as little as one hour a week and still make real progress.
Who we coach
Our clients come from the jobs that fill a Canberra calendar. If yours looks like one of these, we already know the shape of your week.
- Public servants and policy staff in the Parliamentary Triangle, Barton and the city.
- Lawyers working around court dates and billable hours.
- Doctors working around rosters and on-call weeks.
- Embassy and diplomatic staff, close to the embassies in Yarralumla and Deakin.
- CEOs, executives and business owners.
- School principals and school leaders working to the term calendar.
- Financial advisers and accountants, including through tax time and the end of the financial year.
How training fits a demanding job
- Fixed weekly times, agreed when you book. Training sits in your calendar like a meeting, not a decision you make again every day.
- Shorter sessions when you need them. Gold can be split into two 45-minute or three 30-minute sessions, and Silver is one focused hour a week.
- A floor for the heavy weeks. We agree the minimum you will do on your worst week, so budget week, a trial or the end of financial year does not undo your progress.
- Accountability that takes a few minutes a day, with weekly check-ins on Movement, Nutrition, Recovery and Accountability.
- Strength and mobility work for the stiffness and low energy that come from long days at a desk.

FAQ
Busy professionals: questions
- My hours are long and unpredictable. Will this work for me?
- Yes, if you protect the time. We agree fixed weekly sessions when you book and set a floor for your worst weeks. When work changes your week, your coach adjusts the plan, but the standard of showing up stays the same.
- Can I train before work?
- Sessions run at fixed weekly times that you agree with your coach. Fitness First Deakin opens at 5:45am and Fitness First Canberra in Civic at 5:30am on weekdays.
- What if I travel for work?
- Your program lives in the training app, so it travels with you. Online coaching is $89 a week and includes a weekly video review, a 15-minute call and messaging with your coach.
- I have not trained in years. Do I need to get fit first?
- No. You do not need to arrive fit or familiar with the gym. Your coach starts from your current ability and teaches you the rest.
- Are your trainers qualified?
- Yes. Shannon and every Off The Pine personal trainer hold recognised fitness qualifications, professional registration and current first aid.
